Community leaders from across Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke endorse Randall Garrison

Randall has been a tireless advocate for the people of Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke. From his work on environmental issues, to his support for local jobs - Randall has proven himself as a MP. I truly believe Randall is the best candidate to represent us in Ottawa and I hope you will join me in re-electing him on October 19th.

- Shaunna Salsman, Green Party Candidate for Esquimalt-Juan de Fuca in 2011

It is without reservation, that I humbly endorse the re-election campaign of, Randall Garrison of our community. He has a proven track record of community service, both as a Councillor of the municipality of Esquimalt and as our pro-active Member of Parliament. A strong advocate for social justice, he is equally committed to the welfare of the veteran’s community and the wellbeing of our men and women serving in the Canadian Armed Forces and Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Randall Garrison has his finger of the pulse of our community, both serving and retired and as such, I encourage you to join me in returning Randall and the NDP team to Ottawa and provide us with a government of inclusion.

James P. MacMillan-Murphy -  Disabled Veteran, Service Advocate, and Veterans' Community Leader

Randall has been a fierce advocate for our needs on the west coast. Whether it is protecting our fisheries and tourism industry, working with First Nations, or supporting investment in local jobs - Randall understands the needs of our community and has delivered. I'm proud to support Randall for re-election in Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke as someone who will continue to stand up for local residents here and in Ottawa.

John Horgan, MLA for Juan de Fuca, and leader of the BC NDP

Randall Garrison has been a tireless advocate for his constituents and prominent on the national stage standing up to the Harper government. Whether it's Randall's eloquent, forceful stand against Bill C-51‎, fighting for fair treatment of veterans or championing the protection of our environment, coastline and local waterways like the Colquitz, Randall's been a strong voice for the people of Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke.

Rob Fleming, MLA for Victoria – Swan Lake

As a former Saanich Councillor, I am very pleased to endorse and support Randall in his re-election campaign as MP for Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke.  He will now serve more residents of Saanich and will do everything he can to assist all of his constituents.  As a result of my work as a volunteer seniors advocate since I left Saanich Council, I have seen the negative impact that Stephen Harper’s cuts have had and just who is being put at risk.  I know that Randall supports and values the importance of a sustainable, comprehensive public healthcare system and the need to also address the real determinants of health; adequate incomes, affordable housing, access to social supports, access to a good quality education system and a clean environment.  His record in Ottawa speaks to these determinants. Carol Pickup - Coordinator, Volunteer SeniorsAdvocates at Seniors Entitlement Service.

It's been a great pleasure to work with Randall for the last four years. He's been a champion for our community in Ottawa - working tirelessly on issues like protecting the Colquitz watershed and Cuthbert Holmes Park, and re-instating Canada Post's door-to-door delivery. Randall will continue to be a strong and effective voice for our community, and I’m happy to support him for re-election in Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke.

Dean Murdock, Saanich Councillor

Randall comes to this election with experience both as a past Municipal Councillor for the Township of Esquimalt and as our MP for the past 4 years. As our MP, he has been responsive and truly engaged with the issues in our riding.  He is a strong voice for his constituents and makes sure that our concerns and values are not ignored; he is not afraid to speak his mind, standing up for what is right.  As I am an Early Childhood Educator, Randall has heard my concerns with regards to the families and children I work with.  He has developed a strong understanding of the challenges the average middle income family is facing when they have young children.  He has listened and taken the concerns of mine and my colleagues to Parliament and because of him and others in his party, child care is an election issue for the first time in my 25 year career.  Randall has done all of this while being in the opposition, imagine what he could do if his party wins the majority! Meagan Brame, Esquimalt Councillor

Randall has proven himself as a hard working MP by leading the fight on C-51, and advocating for local shipbuilding jobs. I am proud of the work Randall has done in the LGBTQ community, particularly getting cross party support for his bill on trans rights. Randall and the NDP have a strong commitment to address the crisis of missing and murdered aboriginal women and girls, and I fully support their promise to launch an inquiry on this crisis within 100 days of forming government. I am happy to endorse Randall as someone who truly understands the needs of our community. Maurine Karagianis, MLA for Esquimalt – Royal Roads

Randall brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his role as a Member of Parliament, which he has used effectively to address regional and national issues on the environment, social justice and a sustainable economy.  As a long-time resident of the Esquimalt area he has a firm grasp on our regional environment and community. I look forward to Randall’s continued service in Ottawa as the MP for the riding of Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke. Brian Emmett, Marine Environmental Biologist, Esquimalt Business Owner and Operator

Randall has been a fierce advocate for his constituents. This election is a chance to restore Canada’s international reputation on human rights and the environment. I fully support Randall’s push to protect local watersheds and endangered species, especially after years of the Conservative government dismantling the laws protecting our environment. Randall knows what it takes to get things done in Ottawa and as a former City Councillor he knows the importance of federal support for municipal infrastructure. Randall has a record of results assisting his constituents on family reunification cases and other immigration issues. As someone who is passionate about social justice, food security, and environmental protection, I am happy to support Randall’s re-election campaign.

Olga Liberchuk, Esquimalt Councillor

In the nearly thirty years I’ve known Randall Garrison, he has always been passionately engaged with issues in his community. Whether as an instructor shaping young minds to be socially responsible, or as a local councillor promoting walkable, bikeable neighborhoods, Randall is a real force for positive change. I’m also impressed with his work as MP against cuts to our veterans’ benefits and services, and fighting to keep door-to-door mail delivery. I know that in an NDP government Randall will prioritize lifting seniors out of poverty and helping them age in their own homes as long as possible. I’m also confident he’ll keep the NDP promise to make this our last unfair federal election by bringing in proportional representation. David Cubberley, former Saanich Councillor and Saanich South MLA
