You are invited to a very exciting town hall. The Governments of Canada, British Columbia, and First Nations are assessing the feasibility of a national marine conservation area reserve in the southern Strait of Georgia.
A national marine conservation area reserve would help to conserve this vital marine ecosystem while allowing human uses to continue in an ecologically sustainable manner. However, the Strait of Georgia is one of the busiest waterways on the Pacific Coast of North America with multiple overlapping jurisdictions – so the path forward is complex.

We are now closer to nuclear war than we have been since 1953. Canada must step forward and be a leader in the nuclear disarmament movement, but the Liberal Government has refused to sign the historic, legally binding UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
On April 13th, hear an impactful presentation by Dr. Mary Wynne, Ashford Past President of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, and Dr. Jonathan Down, member of Physicians for Global Survivial and the Vancouver Island Peace and Disarmament Network.

April will present her stunning images from all over the BC coast, and then she will show us what even a relatively small oil spill looks like.
