Victoria - Today Esquimalt- Juan de Fuca MP Randall Garrison launched a petition drive to save the remaining 81 Southern Resident Killer Whales. “I have received overwhelming response from my constituents supporting my motion M-460 that contains an Action Plan to address key threats to the survival of the Southern Resident Killer Whales,” Garrison said. “The next step is to bring these voices to Parliament,” Garrison noted. Signatures will be collected throughout the holidays so the petitions can be tabled in the House of Commons when it resumes sitting on January 27th.

Ms Bhandal, the frail 83 year-old woman who had applied to stay with her family in Langford, attended a pre-removal conference today. At that conference the Officer formally announced that Ms. Bhandal’s application for Permanent Residence on Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds had been denied. In light of that denial, the Enforcement Officer also announced that a Removal Order is now in effect.
