Statement on Self-Harm In The Military

Randall Garrison, Member of Parliament for Esquimalt - Saanich - Sooke and the NDP Critic for National Defence, spoke in the House of Commons today to address the incidents of self-harm in the Canadian Armed Forces and holding the government to account for their lack of attention on this matter. Mr. Garrison also spoke of his private members' bill, C-426 which will remove section 98(c) from the National Defence Act making self-harm a medical issue, not a disciplinary issue and has called on all parties in the House to support passing this legislation.
